The Arial Wireless Emergency Call and Nurse Call solution is a centralized event management, notification, reporting and analytics platform to ensure resident safety and security. More than an emergency call system, Arial has the ability to post resident health insights and information to a patient record within PointClickCare.

Features and Benefits

Immediate and accurate notifications

When help is needed, room-level alarm reporting and accurate location information helps caregivers respond quickly. Access to accurate, map-based alarm locations can be delivered to staff through a variety of communication options. Alerts can be sent directly to caregivers via the Arial Mobile Application, IP phones, pagers or other means, with complete information on the resident, alarm and location.

Information at caregivers’ fingertips

Eliminate the need for antiquated pagers with a mobile app that delivers real-time notification, as well as staff coordination and documentation tools. The Arial Mobile App empowers caregivers with better visibility to residents’ needs and faster, more efficient coordination—freeing up more time for high-quality interactions. Caregivers have the ability to receive and accept alarms, and clearly see who is responding to an alarm. Then use the app to capture important information, including the nature and length of a caregiver/resident encounter, the services provided, and notes about the resident’s individual needs.

Coordinate resident care and improve efficiency

To facilitate caregiver collaboration, a live directory displays all caregivers and indicates those that are currently logged in and working at the facility. Caregivers can send secure, color-coded text messages to request assistance, coordinate resident care and improve efficiency.

Arial Mobile Application

The Arial Mobile Application has been designed to work seamlessly with STANLEY Healthcare’s Arial Wireless Emergency Call System to provide senior living caregivers with an innovative tool for handling emergency call alarms and communicating collaboratively with their coworkers. The Arial Mobile Application is packed with intuitive features to ensure community caregivers have visibility to all relevant alarms, their status and who is responding.

Alarm Message Handling

Receive Alarms – receives call station and pendant alarms from anywhere in the facility, using a mobile device, based on the caregiver's assigned zone. Alarm Information – critical alarm information is provided with each message including date, time, alarm name/type and alarm location. Rich Alarm Messages – alarm messages can include images or icons for residents or devices, alarm type color designations and can be arranged by alarm priority. Respond to Alarms – acceptance of alarms provides notification to coworkers of who is responding. Escalations – Escalating non-addressed alarms is intuitively synchronized with the escalations programmed in the Arial software.

Caregiver / Resident Encounters

Alarm Notes – selectable alarm notes can be pre-configured in Arial to allow caregivers to document what was done during their encounter. Custom Notes – caregivers can type in custom notes detailing an encounter for any accepted alarm response. Alarm Completion – caregivers end the encounter by pressing a “Complete” button, which saves the alarm notes and captures the actual encounter time with the resident.

Caregiver Text Messaging and Collaboration

Live Directory – a live directory displays all caregivers and indicates those that are currently logged in and working at the facility. Text Messaging – caregivers can collaborate to coordinate resident care by initiating a text message conversation with other caregivers. Each message includes date and time. Messages from each caregiver are differently colored. Messages that fail to send are colored red. Messages and conversations are preserved for 24 hours.

Enhanced Reporting

Encounter Times – by collecting alarm clearance and alarm completion times, Arial is able to log the actual “encounter time” that a caregiver spends with a resident. This is the time segment between when the call station or pendent in alarm is reset and when the caregiver “completes” the alarm in the mobile application. Encounter times and average encounter time information can be selected and filtered into a large variety of reports within the Arial software. Average encounter times have been incorporated into the Arial Management Dashboard as a data element. Alarm Response Activities – the alarm response activities that are selected by caregivers when completing alarms are logged into the Arial database and are available for generating comprehensive reports.

Powerful Visibility and Insight

The interactive Arial Care Management Dashboard shows at a glance how you’re performing against key benchmarks. It provides real-time awareness and visibility to key staff performance KPIs related to alarm responses, resident and caregiver encounters, alarm types and distribution, and more. Arial’s advanced reporting capabilities allow you to dig into specific events or a resident’s call history. Schedule custom recurring reports by day / time and automatically push reports to email or print. Web-based reports can be accessed anywhere, with automated reports on call volumes, response times and more. Managers have immediate insight into how much time caregivers spend in direct resident care, enabling them to make data-driven decisions that drive desired behavior.

Integrated Wander Management

Arial has a rich, wireless integration with WanderGuard BLUE, the industry-leading wander management solution from STANLEY Healthcare. This combination provides the most advanced wander and elopement protection at the door with wireless connectivity to the comprehensive event management, notification and reporting capabilities within Arial. Geofencing capabilities within Arial can be applied to wander wearables to virtually track and locate memory care residents with elopement risk as a supplemental tool for wander management. Geofencing capabilities power Out of Range or Out of Area alarms that can easily be configured to alert caregivers and ensure resident safety.

Centralized Alerts and Notifications

Whether from personal pendants, wrist wearables or fixed call stations in rooms and common areas, residents can call for help from anywhere in the community. But Arial can also be used to monitor a range of additional safety and security sensors and events, alerting caregivers when other security, safety or environmental factors need to be addressed. Smoke detection and fire panel monitors can be integrated into the system, and wireless sensors for motion detection, door/window contacts, glass-break sensors, and even temperature and humidity monitors can trigger alerts. Provides caregivers and community staff easy access to alert and alarm information – and consolidates management and reporting – within a single location.

PointClickCare Integration

Arial will retrieve resident demographic and status data directly from PointClickCare systems, eliminating the need to manually enter duplicate resident admission and discharge data. Arial has the ability to post resident health insights and information to a patient record within PointClickCare. As soon as something is updated in PointClickCare, the app is notified and is able to keep all authorized data up to date in real-time.
